What is EN ISO 20345 (safety footwear standard)?
EN ISO 20345 (safety footwear)
EN ISO 20345 is the European standard for safety footwear. It requires a toe cap protecting against 200-joule impact and defines marking codes (SB, S1, S1P, S2, S3…) for added features such as antistatic, energy absorption, penetration resistance and water resistance.
The standard sets the baseline (SB = 200 J toe protection) and layers protection classes: S1 adds antistatic and energy absorption, S1P adds penetration resistance, S2 adds water resistance, S3 adds penetration resistance plus a cleated outsole.
The US equivalent is ASTM F2413. Certification is performed by accredited laboratories.
DOING manufactures safety footwear to the class your market specifies and can arrange testing through accredited labs.
