What is FOB pricing in footwear?
FOB pricing
FOB (Free On Board) is a trade term where the supplier delivers the goods, cleared for export, onto the vessel at the origin port; the buyer pays freight and insurance from there. Footwear is usually quoted FOB (e.g. FOB Xiamen) as the standard factory price.
Under FOB the factory price covers production, delivery to the port of departure and export clearance; ocean freight, insurance and import duties are the buyer’s. It is the most common Incoterm in footwear trade.
Other terms you may see are EXW (ex-works) and CIF (cost, insurance, freight).
DOING quotes FOB China and handles export documentation and shipping support to your forwarder or under agreed terms.
