Custom Insoles & Footbeds Manufacturer

The footbed is the part of the shoe your customer feels first. We are a custom insoles manufacturer and footbed supplier for footwear brands, and have developed and produced insoles for our footwear clients — as the sock liner inside the shoes we build, and as separate replacement and retail insole programmes — made in specialist insole factories to your lasts, size run and comfort brief.

Is DOING a custom insole manufacturer?

Yes. DOING is an OEM insole manufacturer and footbed supplier for footwear brands. It has developed and produced EVA, PU foam, cork and moulded footbeds for its footwear clients, made in specialist insole factories to each brand’s lasts and size run, checked by DOING QC and shipped with the footwear order.

What we supply

Insoles & Footbeds we manufacture

EVA insoles

Light, low-cost die-cut or compression-moulded EVA — the most common sock liner for sneakers, casual and kids’ shoes.

PU foam insoles

Open-cell or slow-recovery PU foam for more cushioning and better rebound than standard EVA; common in running and comfort shoes.

Cork footbeds

Cork–latex footbeds that mould to the foot over time, typically used in sandals, clogs and comfort styles.

Ergonomic footbeds

Contoured footbeds with arch support and a heel cup, for walking, work and comfort footwear.

Removable comfort insoles

Drop-in insoles designed to be taken out — so wearers can use their own orthotics — or sold as an upgrade.

Custom moulded footbeds

Footbeds moulded to your own shape from a dedicated mould, when a die-cut insole is not enough for the product.

Specification

What you can specify

Every item is made to a written specification agreed with you before sampling. These are the options buyers most often specify — tell us what matters for your range.

Materials we can specify

  • EVA (various densities)
  • PU foam (open-cell / slow-recovery)
  • Latex foam
  • Cork–latex blends
  • Heel-cup or arch inserts (e.g. TPU)
  • Top covers: textile, mesh, microfibre, synthetic leather

What goes into the specification

  • Thickness at heel and forefoot
  • Hardness (Shore / Asker C), agreed on the sample
  • Arch profile and heel-cup depth
  • Outline graded to your last, size by size
  • Perforation and top-cover finish
  • Treatments on request (e.g. antimicrobial), with the supplier’s test documents

Branding

  • Printed logo on the top cover
  • Embossed or debossed logo
  • Size marking per size
  • Woven or printed heel label
  • Retail card or pouch for stand-alone insoles

Tooling

  • Cutting knives for die-cut insoles, per size
  • Moulds for moulded footbeds — new moulds are quoted separately and belong to the order programme
  • Existing open moulds where a suitable shape already exists

With your footwear order

Why order insoles & footbeds with your shoes

  • The insole outline is graded from the same last as your shoes, so it fits inside every size without trimming.
  • Comfort is judged on the finished shoe: the insole is approved as part of the footwear sample, not on its own.
  • Stand-alone replacement insoles can use the same footbed as your shoes, so the retail upgrade matches the original.

Quality control before shipment

  • Thickness and hardness checked against the approved sample
  • Outline and size marking checked per size
  • Top-cover bonding and edge finish
  • Logo print position and durability
  • Odour and visual check before packing

Inspection follows the same approach as our footwear — see quality control & AQL.

Who makes it

Factory, supplier and accountability

Our custom insoles and footbeds have been developed and produced for our footwear clients as a complementary service. They are manufactured in specialist factories in our network — dedicated insole, packaging, bag and sock factories — while DOING runs development, sampling, quality control and shipment, so you deal with one manufacturer and supplier for your footwear and everything that goes with it.

FAQ

Insoles & Footbeds — buyer questions

Can you make insoles to fit the shoes you are already producing for us?

Yes — that is the most common case. The insole outline is graded from the same lasts as your footwear, and comfort is approved on the finished shoe sample.

Who manufactures the insoles?

We do, as part of our service to footwear clients: insoles are manufactured in specialist insole factories in our network, with DOING writing the specification, reviewing samples, inspecting production and shipping them with your order.

Can you supply stand-alone retail insoles?

Yes, as a separate programme — for example replacement or upgrade insoles in a retail card or pouch. MOQ and price depend on the construction and branding, so we confirm them after reviewing your specification.

Do I need a new mould?

Die-cut insoles need cutting knives per size rather than moulds. Moulded footbeds need a mould unless a suitable open mould already exists; mould costs are quoted separately before you commit.

Can you make medical orthotics?

No. We supply comfort and support insoles for footwear brands; we do not make prescription or medical orthotic devices, and we do not make medical claims for the insoles we supply.

How do we agree on comfort and hardness?

Hardness and thickness are measured on the approved sample and written into the specification, so production is checked against numbers rather than a description like “soft”.
